Ephesians 2:10 NLT
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
This passage came to me at a time when I felt like a disappointment and a failure, as a mum, in my career, as a child of God, a worker and a minister of the Gospel. This passage goes right to the foundations and core of my identity and it came in the nick of time.
The Dictionary defines a masterpiece as a work of outstanding artistry, skill, or workmanship. In modern use, a Masterpiece is a creation that is given much critical praise, especially one that is considered the greatest work of a person's career or to a work of outstanding creativity, skill, profundity, or workmanship.
What Makes a Piece of Art a Masterpiece? They convey a special type of originality that captures the imagination, and they stand the test of time.
WOW. To think that this is who God the greatest artist of all time has created me to be and who he says I am is mind blowing when I consider how much I have messed up in life and in His service. It feels liberating to know that God does not see me the way I or the world see me.
Christ did not save us because we were so great or perfect at anything. He did not die for us on the cross because we were righteous or had it all together. He created us as Masterpieces before time began, even before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs and gave us all that we require to be who He has called us to be in this life. God sees us through the eyes of grace, mercy, and love.
Masterpieces are always connected to a Master. Remain connected to God your maker no matter what may come your way and He will keep you, sustain you and take you to the place where you will thrive, be fruitful and multiply.
Never forget that you are a Masterpiece.
Shalom!
